Training of Primary Healthcare Providers in Nyeri County, Kenya

Focus : Enhance the capacity for comprehensive cancer management in Kenya through training primary healthcare providers , nurses, clinical officers and medical officers on recognizing signs and symptoms of cancer, promoting early detection, diagnosis, and fostering timely referral of patients to the cancer specialists.

Approach: Train 20 of these PHCPs, who will then be able to take part in training the rest of the Primary healthcare providers through the Trainer of Trainers model. The trainings consist of a five-day face to face power-point presentations, videos, role-plays covering the most prevalent cancers in Kenya, a 3-day face to face mentoring and leadership training and continuous online engagements.
