SILK Project

 SILK: Consolidating the S.I.L.K project (Setting up Breast Diagnostic Services, Improving Breast cancer Treatments and potentiating learning bridges in Kirgyzstan) by actively integrating patients representatives (Zhibek Association) 

The SILK project addresses the high mortality rate of breast cancer in Kyrgyzstan, exacerbated by limited healthcare resources. It aims to improve diagnostics, treatment, and patient support.   

– Duration: 12 months 

– Budget: 165,000 €,

– Focus: – Enhance pathology services and develop medical guidelines specific to Kyrgyzstan   

– Approach :

-Promote local patient organizations and healthcare providers for sustainable care   

– Expand breast cancer care beyond Bishkek, focusing on rural areas
